Atlas3D data story

Overview

A scroll-driven 3D story that flies from Tashkent to Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva. The terrain is generated on the GPU from layered noise, with contour lines, mountains rising to the east and desert dunes to the west; the cities sit at their real coordinates.

How it works

As you scroll, the camera glides between chapters, a lime route draws itself between the cities and each one lights up with a pulse. The facts on the cards come from UNESCO World Heritage listings; the elevation is stylised, not real data.

This is a personal concept: the brand, data and people in it are fictional.
